This artwork is inspired by the life story of five innocent Black teenage males who were convicted of a heinous crime that they did not commit and were sent to prison for years where they were robbed of their childhood. What I truly admire about these five (now men) and has moved me to make this artwork was the tremendous resilience of spirit and hope that they showed against the heavy hand of the law. That they never gave up on themselves and pushed forward. And they remembered to and continue to uplift and support others who were deeply wronged by our current justice system. 

An important artwork that highlights the need for change.
