Exciting news!
I was accepted to be part of an upcoming art exhibit at Blue Line Arts Gallery in Roseville, CA for the 30×30 art show!!!
The show will run from November 28, 2015 to Jan 9, 2016, and the reception will be on December 19th from 7-9pm. I’m so incredibly happy!!! I’ve been in such disbelief that this wonderful opportunity has opened up for me. And I kind of went nuts at the Blick Art store yesterday and bought their whole stock of 6″x6″ canvases, and it wasn’t enough! I still need to go back for the rest when they restock their goods next week. Meanwhile, I am still deciding on my theme for this exhibit. I think they really liked the sample entries I sent, which were part of my Healing Wound series. I don’t really know if that’s the direction I want to take with this next set of paintings, but like always, I will see where this experience takes me.
I am still working on finishing my most recent (and currently largest) work. It is not close to being done, but I am experimenting with new ways of harmoniously incorporating hard vs. soft edges of color in my work. My color palette has also shifted to being more bright and ethereal. It’s a bit outside of my previous stylistic preferences, but the light color scheme is something that has been connecting with me for the past few months. Perhaps it is life imitating art, and vice versa. Whatever it may be, it’s been helping me feel lighter and carefree.
Always nice to paint with friends.
Stay tuned for more updates on my 30×30 work in progress!
